A trade show is a tool within your overall marketing system. People need to stop thinking of a trade show as an event - start thinking of it as a process. Begin with establishing your marketing messages.

We are branding our company

“We are exhibiting because we are branding our company.”  How often do you hear that?  In my experience, 99% of the time, that translates to:  We don’t really know why we are exhibiting.  We certainly do not have a trade show strategy.  Our staff hates being here because it is a waste of their time.  But look at the money we spent on our custom exhibit

We just celebrated my daughter's birthday this weekend. After her friends left she said, "Wow, my friends really know what I like." Reflect on that comment for a moment.

Isn't that our goal with our customers? (Don't forget, we all have internal and external customers. Some pay the bills and others help to get the job done. They're equally important if your goal is to enjoy life.) Just like we get to chose our friends, we also get to chose our customers. We chose how to treat our friends - just like our customers.

What is Messaging?

Many people are confused by what is "messaging."  This video explains what messaging is and why it is so important.

If you still are not clear, or have any questions, just email or call.

Core Messaging

What is your core message and why is it so important? Your trade show display, company literature, web site and employees should all communicate that message. My guest today is messaging expert Rita Coco. Here's what she had to share with us today.

It is time again to get ready for your next trade show - 6 months down the road. You are just beginning to plan. And like every previous year, your competitors plan to be at this trade show, too.
